The 6 Best Bed Covers for F250 in 2024 Market

1. Auto Dynasty Tri-Fold Adjustable Tonneau Cover for Ford F250/F350

Top Rated 6 Best Bed Cover for F250 2020 Reviews

Auto Dynasty’s cover is a great solution for any F250 owner looking for a soft tri-fold F250 tonneau cover. This product will be of particular interest to folks who dislike roll covers, and who’re interested in easy installation and weather-proofing the truck’s bed.

Like many other tonneaus, this one too is made from vinyl. This material has proven to be effective and affordable, so it’s a good idea to go with it. The bed cover has an aluminum frame, which gives it the ability to withstand strong winds on the open road and protect the valuables in your truck.

Another great thing about this model is the adjustable tension, which allows you to set a perfect fit and avoid unnecessary sagging. Also, the installation is dead simple, as all you need to do is set the frame, clamp it up, and you’re good to go.

Now, if you’ve got a rail system on your truck’s bed (similar to a roof rack), then you’ll want to skip this review, as the cover won’t be able to fit. However, if you’re driving an F250 or F350 with no customization, then you probably won’t have to worry about this.

When the time comes to remove or open the cover, you can only do it from the back. You can open it partially or completely depending on what you need, and to do this, just remove the safety straps and fold away.

If you wish to completely weather-proof the bed, add some stripping around the bulkhead area.

Pros Cons
  • Very easy to install
  • Sturdy and protects the bed well
  • Adjustable tension to eliminate sagging
  • It won’t fit trucks with a rail system

The Auto Dynasty Tri-Fold cover will protect your truck’s bed from extreme weather conditions, and it’s hassle-free to install!

2. Roll-N-Lock LG119M M-Series Manual Retractable Truck Bed Cover

Top Rated 6 Best Bed Cover for F250 Reviews 2020 1

Roll and fold covers aren’t your thing? How about trying a retractable one? If you’re interested, then you have to read about Roll-N-Lock’s M-series, a model that you shouldn’t skip when looking for the best tonneau cover.

If I had to sum up this product in three words, it would be elegance, simplicity, and functionality. Since this is a retractable cover, it’ll never get that wrinkly and spent look that fold, or roll covers develop over time.

M-Series features a sturdy torsion spring drive, and the retracted cover gets housed in an aluminum reel. Its durable construction enables it to operate smoothly and last for years. Contrary to what many people think, the housing doesn’t take up much space in the truck bed, so there’ll be plenty of room for all your stuff, including something big like a fifth-wheel hitch.

When opening the cover, you can choose between multiple latching positions, including ¼, ½, and  ¾ open. This product also includes a lock with a key, so you can rest assured that nobody but you can open it.

The installation is not difficult per se, but if you’ve never done it before, you might be confused by the company’s instructions. The manual is not so easy to understand, so you should resort to instruction videos instead.

Generally speaking, this retractable bed cover is simple to operate, provides excellent protection from the elements and potential thieves, but it’s sold for a hefty amount.

Pros Cons
  • The smooth mechanism, simple to use
  • Multiple latching positions (¼, ½, and  ¾)
  • Well-constructed and durable
  • The instruction manual isn’t very clear
  • Expensive

All in all, I’m sure that this cover will please anyone looking for a retractable model for their F250. No bundles, no folding or rolling, just smooth retraction!

3. North Mountain Soft Vinyl Roll-up Tonneau Cover

Top Rated 6 Best Bed Cover for F250 Reviews 2020 2

If you’ve been around the tonneau cover scene for some time, you’ve probably heard of North Mountain. This manufacturer is famous for its soft vinyl roll-up covers, and yes, you guessed it, I’m reviewing one of them today.

The charm of North Mountain’s bed covers is their simplicity and straightforward design. These are not “fancy,” state-of-the-art models, but affordable, well-made roll-ups. One other benefit of this tonneau is how easy it is to install. Everything is clamp-on, and you’ll get all the tools and instructions in the package.

North Mountain’s rails are made from aluminum, and they’ve got an epoxy coating to protect them from the cold. Now, the cold is where this cover doesn’t perform very well. The vinyl gets stiff and difficult to roll in low temperatures, and becomes more prone to tears.

The cover is good at keeping the rain out of the bed, as its marine-grade vinyl is entirely waterproof. Its dimensions are slightly bigger than the F250 bed, which gives it extra coverage and protection from the weather, but it also makes an annoying flapping noise when you drive.

All in all, this model is functional, but not very user-friendly.

What else can I say than – you can’t expect more for such a low price –  and I don’t necessarily mean this in a negative way. The cover will do its job fairly well, and if you run into problems, you have the 3-year warranty at your disposal.

Pros Cons
  • Very easy to set up and use
  • One of the most affordable quality roll covers
  • Offers great protection from the rain
  • Not optimal for cold weather conditions
  • It flaps when you drive

Despite its setbacks, North Mountain’s bed cover still does a decent job in protecting your truck’s bed and the valuables inside it. This is a great budget option for an F250 owner!

4. Gator Covers GatorTrax Retractable Tonneau Cover

Top Rated 6 Best Bed Cover for F250 Reviews 2020 3

Besides Rock-N-Lock, GatorTrax is one of the most popular retractable truck bed covers in recent years. It is designed to fit Ford F250 and F350’s 6.9-foot beds and provides convenient and effective protection

What sets this model apart from the previous competitors is its material. It’s not made from vinyl, but black matte polycarbonate slats which give it a sleek look of a sturdy and elegant window shutter. Such a construction is exceptionally durable and will protect your belongings even from an impact.

GatorTrax features a ball bearing sliding system, something that’s not very common among tonneaus. Besides enabling the smooth sliding of the cover, this system won’t freeze or malfunction in cold weather. You can also open the cover as much as you want, and lock it in that position (if you wish).

This hard tonneau isn’t the best at keeping the water out, and some of it tends to leak through by the tailgate. However, you’ll like the draining system that directs any potential leakage out of the bed, so you won’t have to worry about getting your 5th wheel wet.

The installation isn’t too challenging, but I’ve definitely seen simpler ones. The cover weighs 70+ pounds, so it’s not so easy to maneuver it.

GatorTrax comes at a somewhat high price, but it’s far from being the most expensive on the market.

Pros Cons
  • Sturdy protects the bedform impacts
  • Ball-bearing system slides smoothly and doesn’t freeze
  • It looks great
  • Water may leak at the tailgate
  • Not so easy to install

In case you need a cover that can take a punch, then GatorTrax might be what you’re looking for. It’s not the most affordable, but I think it’s worth the price.

5. Undercover Flex Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover

Top Rated 6 Best Bed Cover for F250 Reviews 2020 4

Undercover Flex is a foldable tonneau Ford F250 bed cover with features that will pleasantly surprise you. If you’re looking for something between a soft and a hard bed cover, then this might just be it.

Just like many other similar models, this cover can be folded three times across its length. However, what makes this one special is its ability to be raised up when fully folded, which gives you 100% access to the bed.

Each of the tonneau’s panels is made from a strong composite material called FPR, and it is lighter but stronger than the commonly used aluminum. This material decreases the overall weight of the product, making it easy to maneuver, and open the cover.

A problem that seems impossible to avoid with foldable models is the creasing of the material in places where the cover gets folded. Not only does this worsen the look of the product, but it also prevents it from laying flat on the rails once closed. As time passes, this problem increases, and eventually, it might let water leak into the bed.

Aside from the above-mentioned, Undercover doesn’t have any other significant issues. Its price is suitable for its quality, and even though some would argue that it is expensive, I beg to differ.

Pros Cons
  • Lightweight yet durable
  • Easy to install and to use
  • It gives you 100% access to the truck bed
  • Creases form in places where the cover is folded

6. RetraxPRO MX Retractable Truck Bed Tonneau Cover

RetraxPRO MX Retractable Truck Bed Tonneau Cover

Last but not least, I’d like to introduce you to RetraxPro. This retractable F250 hard bed cover has created a lot of hype among truck owners, and for a good reason. Its excellent fit, sturdy build, and aesthetics give off a powerful first impression.

The first thing that I’d like you to know about this product is that it isn’t cheap — quite the contrary. Retrax bed cover is the priciest model on the list, and one of the more expensive on the market.

If I were to compare this cover to any others, it would be the Gator Trax. The two are very similar and share many of the same strengths, as well as weaknesses. So, if you really like this design, but you’d like something a bit cheaper, try Gator Trax.

The installation process is relatively simple. You’ll receive the cover in several boxes, then put it together, and then simply place it over the truck bed. The manufacturer offers excellent video instructions to help you get the job done.

The highlights of RetraxPRO are its aesthetics and the fact that it comes in both matte and glossy finishes. It’s also very resilient to physical damage and has a quality lock, which can be used no matter where you latched the cover.

Its downside is the poor protection from the weather, especially in heavy rain and storms. Another major issue is that the cover starts sagging after a considerable amount of use, and there’s nothing you can do to tighten it again.

Is it worth the price? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

Pros Cons
  • Excellent aesthetics, available in glossy and matte
  • Strong, able to withstand physical damage
  • Pretty easy to install
  • Very expensive
  • The cover starts to sag after a lot of use

The RetraxPRO cover can be viewed as a more expensive GatorTrax. If you like it and money isn’t a problem for you, I say go for it.

Conclusion

Ok, Ford-heads, you’ve seen the hottest F250 tonneau cover on the market, and now it’s time for me to wrap this article up. I’d love to tell you which one is optimal for you, but that’s something that you have to figure out on your own.

In my humble opinion, the best bed cover for F250 is the Roll-N-Lock, no doubt about this. In case you’re shopping on a budget, then the Auto Dynasty Tri-Fold will probably be more suitable for you.

It depends on what you are expecting it to do and the style you prefer. Diamondback is popular and a real workhorse. BAKflips are also popular, but not as rugged as Diamondback. Would you like to have equipment, quads, etc. sitting on your head …….. to go with Diamondback?

  2. Substance Abuse And Domestic Violence says:

I have had Roll n Lock since 2008 on my f250 2011. I will upgrade to American Toolbox Roll cover. Integrated toolbox is priceless, at least for me.

  3. Blair Orndorff says:

I didn’t do Retrax Pro, I had RETRAX regularly on my F150 for 7 years and the only thing I noticed was over time, the powder coated aluminum for frame rails started to get dull. I could bring it back with wax, but Lexan for the center part remains shiny all the time, without maintenance. So when I bought my F250, I stayed with the Retrax regularly with the Lexan, it was strong enough, it certainly was able to withstand very high snowfall this winter.

On my F150, I noticed that when the rear window opened, you could hear “rustling” in the wind, it didn’t load very much, but it was there. On my F250, maybe the aerodynamics are different, and it’s a 6.5 ‘bed rather than a 5.5’, it doesn’t do it. It will headlining a bit through big bumps.

It’s about 2 years now on my F250, and the ending still looks great.

  4. Alcohol Rehab Near Me says:

I have a retrax on my 2012 F250, which is really beautiful, had one on my F150 before. I like that I can just roll it forward and it’s off the road, roll it up and it’s well sealed, though not completely waterproof. There was a box in the front, so I gave up some cargo rooms for my convenience, but it was worth it for me.
